My philosophy on life
How I've led my life
It was during a climbing trip in the Cascade Mountains that I realized
how I
had been living my life and it was according to two pretty
straightforward principles.
1. Live now.
2. Mean it.
If you want to read more about this revelation I had, read my Cascades
climbing story. But basically the first rule means, enjoy this life.
Not just today, but your past, present, and future. Cherish your
memories and take pride in your accomplishments, enjoy now, and work
towards the future. The second rule just means to put your all into
everything you do. Don't half-ass your way through life. This doesn't
mean every minute has to be serious, far from it. It just means, if
you're going to relax or be lazy for a day (or year), really do it.
Turn off the work phone, shut down the laptop, and soak up the sun,
enjoy your lover's company. Really do, and really feel it. Work hard,
love hard, play hard.
I don't think there is anything unique to me in this philosophy. Give
it a try and you'll see.
